There are circumstances that might elicit emotions and behaviors that are contradictory to our intentions and what we know of ourselves. Therapy is an outlet that allows us to address dysfunctional patterns and difficult emotions, and make changes.
The therapy room is a protected space where emotional comfort is most important. With a strong and positive therapeutic relationship, the client and therapist can collaborate to explore emotions, behaviors, and problem solving techniques. By learning to accept our strengths and weaknesses as well as successes and failures, we learn to love ourselves more. The development of increased love for ourselves will ultimately translate to more loving and healthy relationships.
